Language hints - "just say it really fast!"

In the past few years I have been given the same advice about completely different situations of speaking foreign languages. The first was from our campus minister, K.B., who said it when trying to read old testament names. The second was from a friend, M.W., who spent a year in China teaching English.

So, about both ancient Hebrew and Chinese, if you don't know how to say something, just go ahead and say it really fast. Apparently it gets the point across!

We have just sent in our no-fee passport applications and visa applications to the Peace Corps travel office (SATO). Next up is sending updated resumes and aspiration statements to the office in China, so that they can be introduced to our amazing skill sets and dynamic personalities (haha). Then we will be waiting for a travel packet in order to schedule travel, and some more medical junk (PRC requires volunteers to have a chest x-ray and EKG, or so I have heard).

Cheers!
